SUBJECT: DELAY ON 2019 PROPERTY TAX BILLING
This year the property tax bills will not go out on November 1st. due to house bill 407 this legislation permitted school districts to have a mill levy question on the November election ballot.
Due to this change, the treasurer’s office has to wait until Tuesday November 5th election canvas is completed. therefore, the mora county property tax bills will be delayed.
We requested for an extension from New Mexico Taxation & Revenue Department, Property Tax Division, this extension was granted.
December 1, 2019 Mailing of property tax bills
December 10, 2019 Payment due date
January 10, 2020 Final due date before penalty & interest
The second half of property taxes will not be impacted by this change. 2nd installments are due by April 10, 2020. delinquent after May 10, 2020.

Mora/Colfax Head Start Notice
We are recruiting and assisting families with “Enrollment Applications” for the 2019-2020 school year. Children born before September 1, 2016 are age eligible. Parents are welcome to come to our offices anytime from 7:30 am till 4:00 pm. Give your child a Head Start in their education and give us a call!!
